ΤΑΒΕΡΝΑ ΚΑΛΛΙΟΤΖΙΝΑ

Φτάνοντας στο Μακρύ Γυαλό 25 περίπου χιλιόμετρα από την Ιεράπετρα η μύτη σου σε οδηγεί στην καλλιοτζίνα μια όμορφη ταβερνούλα με αυθεντικές κρητικές γεύσεις και ευχάριστο περιβάλλον ! Τα μισά τραπέζια είναι πάνω στα βραχάκια μπροστά στην θάλασσα και τα άλλα μισά σε μια μικρή αυλή γεμάτη αλμυρικια!!! Ότι και να επιλέξει κανείς θα είναι σίγουρα καλομαγειρεμένο με διαλεκτά υλικά ενώ τα μαγειρευτά της αποδεικνύουν το μεγαλείο της κρητικής κουζίνας !!!
(Συμβουλή: Καλύτερα να κάνετε κράτηση διότι το ταβερνάκι δεν έχει πάνω από 15 τραπέζια και είναι γεμάτο στην καρδιά του καλοκαιριού.)
(Ζητήματα Χρημάτων: Ακόμα αναρωτιέμαι πώς είναι δυνατόν να πληρώσαμε 80 ευρω οι τέσσερεις μας, με ένα σκασμό από πιάτα συμπεριλαμβανομένου ψαριού.)

TAVERN [KALLIOTZINA] 

Upon reaching Makri Gialos which is roughly 25 kilometres (actually a bit less I think!) from Ierapetra your nose leads you to the Kalliotzina, which is one of the most beautiful little taverns by the beach, with authentic Cretan flavours and pleasant environment! The half tables are actually 1 meter from the the little rocks in front of the sea, while the other ones are in a small courtyard under the trees that grow next to the sea, which in Greek are called "Almyrikia" (Salted Trees)!!! 

What ever you choose to have at your table is certainly well cooked with its traditional and local materials carefully selected these along with the masterful cooking the women perform there makes your lunch or night dinner a time to remember for long time.

(Tip: The only negative thing, is that there are not too many tables (must be no more than 15 tables) and during the high season, mid july-18August, you better book it in advance since most Greeks now that place and book it in advance.)

(Money matters: We paid (the four of us) less than 80 Euros, I still wonder how is that possible with the number of plates we had, including fish!)
